Experienced and fit hikers with walking boots will enjoy this difficult and somewhat dangerous hike that leads them to one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The best season is from May to September, but even then the canyon may be full of water from a heavy rainfall, requiring you to swim through some parts! It is slightly easier to hike uphill from Sa Calobra to Escorca because the climbing passages are easier in the ascent, but you can also start from Escorca and have the bus from Sa Calobra bring you back up. There are ropes left in the climbing parts, but it is better to bring your own in case. If you’re in for a physical challenge with amazing views this hike is for you, but be careful! There have been accidents and recues for inexperienced hikers here!

Soller Railway Station
The route will begin at the Railway Station, located at Plaça Espanya, 6. The building housing Sóller train station was the old 17th century fortified house of Can Mayol. Above the entrance arch of the façade, a console displays the date of 1606. It was later converted into a hotel and eventually, at the beginning of the 20th century, into a railway station. The result of the restructuring from 1911-1912 is the art nouveau style preserved in the building, consisting of a series of delicate decorative details on doors, windows, ironwork, platform corbels and the tank in the courtyard, among other places. On leaving the station, to the left, beside the Major water course, you will see before you three examples of the typical railings that border the gardens of many houses in Sóller. Can Penya, Can Isabel and Cas Fideuer display the skilled ironwork of the artisans of the first third of the 20th century. Flowers, rosettes and leaves intertwine in elegant and simple designs. Pines, araucarias (or monkey-puzzle trees) and palms grow in these gardens.
Sa Calobra
Sa Calobra is situated at 38 kilometres from Sóller, between Morro de sa Vaca and Morro de ses Fel.les and below the Puig Major (1445 metres high), the highest mountain of the Balearic Islands. The highlight of this very small beach with sand, gravel and pebbles comes after the pedestrian tunnel along the steep and abrupt cliffs, from where you can reach the wonderful mouth of the Torrent de Pareis, which has been an inspiration for artists and where there is a choir concert each summer due to the excellent acoustics. This fact explains that the beach is very popular both for local visitors and tourists on the seaway or on a spectacular road with 14 kilometres of curbs, 12 of 180 degrees and one of 360, known as Nus de sa Corbata (the knot of the tie), with 900 metres difference in level.

Port de Valldemossa
Port de Valldemossa or sa Marina, this last name is more popular, six kilometres from the village with the same name. This beautiful stretch of the coast of Valldemossa has on the northwestern side a small port for boats that have a maximum length of seven metres and in the north-eastern area there is a semicircular little cove, with pebbles, gravel and rests of marine vegetation. The marine and underwater conditions are not safe for anchoring boats because it is open to the strong winds that blow from the west-northwest and north. If the navigator wants to anchor his boat in front of this cove, he is recommended to do this manoeuvre by daylight. Toward northeast you will find the impressive Punta de sa Foradada, which has been artistic inspiration, with a wonderful anchorage. Sa Foradada is sheltered from nearly all the winds on both sides, it has a sandy and rocky ground and the depth ranges from five to 11 metres. This small headland has the name of foradada (it means full of holes in English) because there is an enormous circular hole in the upper part. At 7,2 nautical miles there is the secure Port de Sóller. The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The last six kilometres to Port de Valldemossa will be done on a sinuous, narrow and steep road. This road leads to the deviation to the finca s Estaca, which belongs to the actor Michael Douglas. These characteristics explain that the beach is not crowded at all by tourists
